FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Councillor Paul Carr seeking re-election to champion community priorities

Belleville, ON – May 4, 2026

Paul Carr has filed his nomination papers at City Hall this morning to seek re-election as Councillor for Ward 2 in the City of Belleville. Carr, who has represented Ward 2 since 2014, also served on Council from 2000 to 2003.

“First of all, I want to thank residents for entrusting me with the honour and privilege to represent you on Belleville City Council this current term. I enjoy meeting with you individually, at events or town hall meetings to discuss issues, addressing your concerns and promoting your ideas.

I have a track record of fiscal responsibility that you can count on. I ask the tough questions you want from a community leader and my voting record demonstrates a commitment to keep taxes as low as possible. I have advocated for departmental operating plans, community surveys, performance management and a more transparent budget process.

This current term has continued the momentum with record investments in roads, parks and other infrastructure which has led to considerable growth and great potential for the future. There are a number of important projects for our community that have been initiated that I would like to see through to completion in the upcoming term.

As always, I have maintained a citizen-centred approach and a focus on delivering results. I have held several Town Hall meetings annually to report on city business, answer your questions and be accountable to you. These will continue if re-elected. This is your community. I am here to serve as well as facilitate and champion your priorities at City Hall.”

More details regarding the campaign will be released in the coming months and will be found at paulcarr.ca. If I can count on your support, please send me a message at [email protected]

The municipal election is on Monday October 26, 2026.
