Shorelines Casino Belleville is a roughly 48,000 square-foot $41 million casino that opened in 2017 with 450 slot machines, two entertainment stages and 22 gaming tables. It was the first casino built in Ontario since 2006.
Shorelines Casinos across Ontario are owned and operated by Great Canadian Entertainment (formerly Great Canadian Gaming Corporation), which was acquired by affiliates of Apollo Global Management, Inc., a US based private equity firm, on Nov 11, 2020 for $3.3 billion.

2012 – Discussion of the development of a hotel at 400 Bell Blvd begins.
February 11, 2013 – Williams Hotels announces TownePlace Suites by Marriott Belleville hotel at 400 Bell Blvd. Owned and managed by Williams Hotels Ltd., William Hotels also operates the Best Western, Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott, Holiday Inn Express.
Mayor Neil Ellis applauded the move noting it’s a natural step for development in the city and may play a role in determining whether Belleville is a host community for a new casino.
I think the casino is moving down the road quickly and Williams Hotels wants to be out in front of that
OLG was in town last week and they’re coming in more often now.
That land has been serviced for approximately 10 years now. That was done, originally, for the casino-raceway and now I think you’re going to see more development happen.
John Williams, president of Williams Hotels, said the new development has been in discussion for more than a year. Like Ellis, he said once shovels go in the ground and people see investments being made there will be more to follow.

A deal to bring a casino to Belleville was struck earlier this week, as local councillors were at city hall to make it official.
An article by CKWS Television explains that ‘Shorelines Casino Belleville’ will be located near Highway 401, on Bell Boulevard.
The 48,000-square-foot facility will be home to 450 slot machines, two entertainment stages and 22 gaming tables. The casino’s owner/operator, the Great Canadian Gaming Corporation, will be investing $41 million to make the project become a reality.
