The complete reconstruction of Phillipston Road has been deferred. The City will instead move forward with an asphalt resurfacing project in 2026 to improve road conditions while longer-term plans are reviewed.

Phillipston Road, from Highway 37 to Bethel Road, will be fully reconstructed.

The existing pavement has deteriorated to the point where many sections have reached the end of their service life and need to be fully replaced or rehabilitated.

It will be reconstructed in two phases:

  • Phase 1: Highway 37 to Zion Road
  • Phase 2: Zion Road to Bethel Road

Planned Improvements:

  • Full-depth replacement of the pavement structure to ensure long-term durability and enhance serviceability
  • Widening the driving lanes and/or shoulders to better accommodate all users, including farm equipment
  • Consideration of re-grading the road profile to improve visibility on hills
  • Improving roadside drainage

These improvements will help enhance safety and serviceability of the road to address the needs of residents and businesses.
