Rebate

Provides a $1,200 property tax credit and a water/wastewater credit of up to $420 ($200 for properties with water service only and no sewer).

Eligibility

Low income seniors (GIS)

Eligible individuals in receipt of the Guaranteed Income Supplement under the Old Age Security Act (Canada) who were 65 years of age or older by Dec. 31, 2025. Applicants must solely own and occupy this property as their principal residence. Eligibility requirements may apply. Deadline for submitting applications is Aug. 31, 2026.

Applications must be made on a yearly basis, and can be submitted in person or online through the Senior Rebate Application.

Please Note: Applications only become available after council has approved the annual budget each year, up to 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 31 of each year.

Persons with disabilities (ODSP)

Eligible individuals in receipt of Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) Benefits. Applicants must solely own and occupy this property as their principal residence. Eligibility requirements may apply. Deadline for submitting applications is Aug. 31, 2026.

Applications must be made on a yearly basis, and can be submitted in person or online through the ODSP Rebate Application.
