Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward

Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward (Charitable Registration # 898381439RR0001) is a community-based shelter, with a staff of 17, including a team of registered veterinary technicians and administrators.

Currently, eight municipalities contract the services:

  • Belleville
  • Brighton
  • City of Quinte West
  • Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte
  • Stirling-Rawdon, Trent Hills
  • Tweed
  • Tyendinaga Township

In 2024, it welcomed a total of 1,635 animals, including 674 from Belleville (40% of all animal intakes), ranging from cats and dogs to small animals.

Mission statement

The HUMANE SOCIETY HASTINGS PRINCE EDWARD is dedicated to the safe refuge and compassionate care of stray, homeless, owner surrendered, neglected and abused animals.

We strive to foster a culture of kindness, empathy and responsible stewardship through teamwork, collaboration, community education and outreach.
