  • Resolution from the Municipality of Tweed supporting a measured approach to Ontario’s energy transition; recognizing that there may not be enough electricity available to replace the energy provided by natural gas and meet the increased demand from electrification; and that natural gas must continue to play an integral role in meeting the energy needs of Ontario; and supporting the work the Ontario Government has done to date including the Natural Gas Expansion Program and Electrification and Energy Transition Panel’s call for a clear policy on the role of natural gas to secure access to affordable energy.
  • Resolution from the Township of Lanark Highlands supporting the Ontario Conservation Officer’s Association (OCOA) in their efforts to have Conservation Officers in the Province of Ontario reclassified as Enforcement Officers and be compensated fairly.
  • Resolution from the Municipality of Calvin directing the Fire Chief to prepare a letter to the attention of the Fire Underwriters Survey requesting the creation of a new community fire protection and fire prevention insurance system that does not put all municipalities under the same umbrella, with distinct categories for rural and urban municipalities.  
  • Resolution from the Regional Municipality of Durham requesting the Province of Ontario to permanently remove tolls on the provincial-owned portion of Highway 407 between Brock Road (Durham Regional Road 1) in Pickering and Highway 35/115.
  • Resolution from the County of Renfrew to advocate to the provincial and federal levels of government to make them aware that rural and small urban water and wastewater systems are financially unsustainable; and advocate to the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO), the Rural Ontario Municipalities Association (ROMA) and the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) to examine if the unaffordability of water and wastewater system operational costs is systemic provincially and nationally.
