The Negotiation Committee is an advisory committee of the Belleville Police Services Board.
Governance
The committee has 2 voting members.
The Mandate of the Belleville Police Services Board Negotiation Committee is to:
- meet with appropriate resource and administrative personnel prior to the commencement of Negotiations to formulate Board Proposals
- review final Board Proposals
- attend Proposal Exchange with respective Association prior to Negotiation Sessions
- attend all Negotiation Sessions as arranged in conjunction with the Belleville Police Service Association (Uniform and Civilian) and Senior Officers’ Association
- during negotiations, if required, meet with the Board to provide updates and/or receive further directives
- make every attempt, on behalf of the Board, to secure a Memorandum of Understanding
- execute Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of the Board
- present executed Memorandum of Understanding to the Board for official ratification
- review Collective Agreements incorporating negotiated changes to ensure accuracy prior to final presentation to the Board and official execution by the Chair and Vice Chair
Committee Structure:
- two (2) voting members
Staff Support:
- primary resource support will be provided by the Chief of Police
- administrative support will be provided by the Board Secretary
- additional consultation support will be as required by the Committee and disclosed to the Associations
Other:
- Committee shall stay current with the progress of Collective Bargaining and recently negotiated Collective Agreement settlements
Meetings
Meetings are held at the Call of the Chair in the Joint Forces Operations Room (JFO), unless otherwise noted.
