During the Oct. 28, 2024 council meeting, a motion was made to establish an ad hoc committee to review the littering, property standards, clean yards and other public order and community standards by-laws. The ad hoc committee was formed in December and staff were engaged to oversee the project.
The By-law Review Survey ran from Feb. 11 to March 4 and received a total of 405 responses.
Survey results
In general, survey respondents were satisfied with the Noise, Clean and Clear Yards and Property Standards Bylaws, but thought the Littering Bylaw was not working well and wasn’t strict enough. They also thought that Bylaw enforcement was somewhat unresponsive to complaints.
