The Strategic Safety Plan Committee is an advisory committee of the Belleville Police Services Board.
Governance
The committee has 2 voting members.
The Mandate of the Belleville Police Services Board Strategic Safety Plan Committee is to:
- comply with the Ontario Police Services Act’s Adequacy and Effectiveness of Police Services regulation that requires every Police Services Board develop a Strategic Safety Plan at least once every three years
- through research and consultation with the members of the Belleville Police Service and members of the Strategic Safety Plan Committee set goals and objectives to address the priorities and concerns raised as well as the environmental scan of issues and trends affecting the City of Belleville and the police sector
- ensure the very nature of policing, core police functions, rising costs, social issues, alternative service, delivery methods, best practices and new initiatives have been taken into account during the development of the Strategic Safety Plan
- ensure the Strategic Safety Plan continues to build upon its past successes
- present final Strategic Safety Plan to the Board
- Monitor goal objectives and performance indicators identified to assist in determining if advances have been made in reaching the overall goal
Committee Structure:
- two (2) voting members
Staff Support:
- staff support will be provided principally through the Belleville Police Service
- Board Secretary will provide administrative support as required in regards to Meeting Agenda and Minute preparation
- additional consultation will be as required by the Committee
Meetings
Meetings are held at the Call of the Chair in the Joint Forces Operations Room (JFO), unless otherwise noted.
