Belleville donates police station property to Habitat for Humanity PEH

THAT the Director of Corporate Services/City Clerk’s Report No. DCS-2020-41, Habitat for Humanity – Property Request (Habitat Horizons
Centre), be received.

THAT Council approve the donation of the property located at 93 Dundas Street East as the primary option with staff being directed
to work with Habitat for Humanity Prince Edward-Hastings on the transfer of ownership and that in the event this property is deemed unsuitable, approve the donation of the property located at Sidney Street and Bridge Street (portion of) as a secondary option; and direct staff to provide Habitat for Humanity Prince Edward-Hastings with a letter of commitment identifying the donation of land as the City’s contribution to the
Habitat Horizons Centre project for the purposes of their funding application.

During discussions on this motion, Councillor Carr rose on a Point of Personal Privilege. Councillor Carr felt Councillor Kelly questioned his integrity. His Worship Mayor Panciuk ruled that there was no breach of the rules.
