A public meeting will be held on April 17 at 7 p.m. to get feedback from residents on the Clifford Sonny Belch Park (formerly Hillcrest) playground design.

An online survey ran from Jan. 15 to Feb. 16 to determine what elements the community would like to see in the playground. The survey received 750 responses which were reviewed by staff and used to develop the Request for Proposal for the design of the playground.

During the April 17 public meeting, the top playground designs will be presented to attendees. Participants will then have the opportunity to vote for their preferred option through a poll.

Residents interested in participating must register online for the meeting before April 15 at 10 a.m. An email will be sent out in advance of the meeting providing registrants with the login details. Those who require additional accessibility supports to participate are asked to note them on the registration form.

“I would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to provide their feedback so far,” said Operations Planning and Development Manager of Transportation & Operations Services Rowland Cave-Browne-Cave. “Citizen engagement is of the utmost importance for a community project like this to ensure everyone’s needs and wants are heard. We were so pleased with the feedback received through our online survey and would like to encourage everyone to remain involved as we finalize plans for the playground.”
