From the Mayor’s Office:

We are deeply saddened to have learned of the passing of former Mayor, Shirley Langer.

Shirley served as Mayor of the City of Belleville from 1991 to 1994. During this time, she focused on issues of development, supporting the arts, and was an avid environmentalist. Shirley’s passion for environmental sustainability at a local level has left a lasting legacy in our community that we look to continue. On behalf of the City and Council, I extend our sincere condolences to her loved ones during this time.

The flag at City Hall, Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre and Fire Station #1 has been lowered until further notice in her honour.
