Belleville City Council has approved a new four-year collective agreement with Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 907 which represents the City’s inside and outside workers.

The Agreement, which covers the period of January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2027, will see the City’s unionized employees receive wage increases of 5.0 per cent in 2024, 3.5 per cent in 2025, and 3.0 per cent in 2026 and 2027. The new Collective Agreement was reached through collaborative discussions focused on reaching a fair and balanced agreement that aligns with our commitment to fostering a culture that is productive, respectful, positive, and recognizes the hard work and dedication of our workforce.

Several other items were agreed to including realignment of work groups for a more cohesive collective agreement, as well as enhanced benefits and improvements to LTD that will bolster recruitment and retention initiatives.

CUPE Local 907 ratified the agreement with the members on May 14.
