2024 Bay of Quinte byelection
Margaret Schuler is a fighter. She’ll fight for good government. She’ll fight for children and education. Margaret Schuler will fight for you.
Margaret’s father fought on the beaches of Normandy and returned home to become a successful lawyer. From her father, Margaret learned to advocate for what she believes in and when to fight for those beliefs.

Margaret, a retired teacher, devoted mother, and proud grandmother, deeply cares about the future of Ontario.
New Blue Ontario
Margaret previously ran for school board trustee in Belleville (where she lives and which is also in the riding of Bay of Quinte), receiving thousands of votes resulting in her share of the vote reaching double digits.
We are fortunate to have her as a member of the New Blue Party, and we greatly appreciate her commitment to running in this by-election!
Issues & views
Margaret Schuler seems to be preoccupied with and focused heavily on US politics and COVID-19 based on her active social media pages.
Pro-Trump/Republican Party, against Harris/Biden/Democrat party
Posts against COVID-19 vaccines and lockdowns
Didn’t ask for evidence when they told you to social distance. You just did it.
Didn’t ask for evidence when they told you to stay home for two weeks. You just did it.
Didn’t ask for evidence when they told you to mask up. You just did it.
Didn’t ask for evidence when they told local businesses to close down. You just went along with it.
Didn’t ask for evidence when they pulled your kid out of school. You just went along with it.
Didn’t ask for evidence when they scared you with terms like “super spreader.” You just went along with it.
Didn’t ask for evidence when they said you couldn’t visit the nursing home. You just went along with it.
Didn’t ask for evidence when they said the funeral would have to be via Zoom call. You just went along with it.
Didn’t ask for evidence when you followed the arrows on the floor at the grocery store. You just did it.
Didn’t ask for evidence when they promised the shot was “safe and effective.” You just believed it.
Didn’t ask for evidence when they said “Just the one shot.” You just went ahead and got it.
Didn’t ask for evidence when they said “We meant two shots to get your life back.” You just went ahead and got it…again.
Didn’t ask for evidence when they said “Our bad, you’ll need a booster every year.” You just got back in line for more of it.
Didn’t ask for evidence when they said “We meant boost a few times a year.” You just nodded your head in agreement because look how far you’ve come. You can’t go back now.
Oh but if someone tells you any of that was horrible and wrong and it’s ruined millions of lives… you’re going to need to see some “evidence” of it. Goodluck

2018 municipal election for HPEDSB trustee
I obtained a Bachelor of Education from York University in 1986 and quickly got a job teaching ESL to primary students, when my daughter was 2 years old! I have had a successful 30 year career under the direction of the former East York Board and the Toronto District School Board! Since my arrival in Belleville, I have worked as an emergency supply teacher in Hastings County!
2018 HPEDSB elections
I have remained current in education theory and practice, and the curriculum. I have always been involved in Professional development along my teaching career! I have completed a teaching Specialist in Health & Physical Education, a teaching Specialist in English as a Second Language and Special Ed. More recently, I was in serviced as a Reading Recovery Teacher for the TDSB and taught struggling readers to begin their journey into literacy! It was hugely successful and rewarding! All my roles, as a teacher were rewarding. My classroom was inclusive and I worked hard for the best student achievement possible!
Incident regarding Facebook comments towards Lisa Anne Chatten
When she learned that the Ontario Elementary Teachers Federation, a union she spent 30 years with, endorsed Chatten and another candidate Margaret said she was “fed up” and “snapped”:
The incident went so far as to involve the police after Chatten sought the assistance of Belleville police over Facebook comments by a fellow candidate, Margaret Schuler, attacking her weight and character.
Schuler, who has since apologized for her remarks, said she “snapped” after being badgered online.
“These people have zero experience with the board and claim they are philanthropists,” Schuler commented on a post that originated from her personal Facebook account. “A single mom, no property and a Jaguar LOL!! I am sure she “knows all the guys in Belleville when she was a bit thinner! Like 200 pounds!”
Schuler claimed Chatten only takes “selfies from the neck up! She is enormous!”
In Quinte
Schuler said she took the post down before the police were called and has since issued a public apology to Chatten.
“I deeply regret what I said,” Schuler said in an interview.
“What I said was wrong and I should know better,”
