2022 provincial election
She participated in the Provincial Debate in early 2022:
On inequality
Wants to shrink the “gap of inequality” that is slowly growing between the community and the world around them. “The growing gap of inequality is really taking a turning point in this area, where you can see that people are living dynamically different lives”
On guaranteed livable income
“What we realized during this pandemic, is that this social inequality and financial inequality is going to continue to be one of our number one issues. What we need to do is get financial support directly to the individuals and allow them to make choices to open their own small businesses, or be able to close their doors during a pandemic and know that they’re not going to lose their business.”
On climate change
Local climate issues she wants to address include promoting not just electric vehicles, but ride sharing to get more vehicles off the roads.
Personal life
Charlton is a mother.
She grew up biking to Sandbanks, participating in soccer tournaments at Prince Edward Collegiate Institute, working in local Picton establishments and visiting the many community centers for hockey or agricultural events.
